Shiva, the most complex deity in Hinduism, is commonly worshipped in the Lingam form. It is difficult to point out the origin of the deity. The character of this deity is full of contradictions - he is the destroyer and expresses his fierce nature with the well-known Nataraja form and the third eye, which can turn the world to ashes.
At the same time, coupled with Shakti, he is the symbol of procreation. He is an ascetic with a repelling look - naked with ash smeared all over the body, snakes crawling on his body and accompanied by Bhutas and fierce beings. But for devotees, he is as soft as could be and is believed to bestow boons if worshiped with devotion.
